The hearing of the case regarding CBI probe into destruction of Waqf properties in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is likely to be held on Monday at High Court. The hearing of the case will be held before Justice Praveen Kumar.
State Minority Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan had filed the petition which has been accepted for hearing. Notices have been served to 9 parties including Waqf boards of both the states and CBI.
Central government has made it clear that it is ready for CBI probe into Waqf affairs on the condition that both the states agree on it and send letters of acceptance. It has been learnt that Chief Ministers of both the states have agreed to conduct enquiry however officials vehemently oppose it. Some quarters are even trying to delay court hearing.
