Health is top government priority: CM

Hyderabad, January 23: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday said that the state government’s resolve to give top priority to the Health sector can be gauged by the fact that over Rs 1,000 crore is being spent on surgeries of up to three lakh people.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Beams Hospital at Hyderabad, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy added that this health care system, under the Rajiv Arogyasri Health Insurance Scheme, has enabled crores of people to stop worrying about their medical bills.

The Chief Minister added that even private hospitals are also getting support from the government through the Arogyasri Scheme along with Government Hospitals.

Government Hospitals are being strengthened with more beds, medical infrastructure and availability of doctors.

Labour Minister Danam Nagendar, Marketing Minister Mukesh Goud, Chairman of the Beams Hospital Dr Rakesh Sinha, CEO of the Hospital Dr Krishna Murthy and others were present.
