Amidst protests from public and criticism by Opposition parties on health security cards, pensions, caste and income certificates at Revenue offices, which witnessed serpentine queues since this morning, the Telangana government has climbed down saying it is enough to fill the details on a whitepaper rather than filling up forms which are not easily available to the common man.
Keeping the inconvenience being caused to public in view, the Government has extended deadline to issue the same till October 20 in all districts. Finance Minister Etela Rajender said the beneficiaries can avail rice on old ration cards until new ones are issued. He appealed to people to beware of brokers, who are misguiding them. Even some political parties are resorting to make cheap allegations on ‘power crisis’, he lamented.
Stating that the power problem will be resolved in the near future, he exhorted the farmers to understand the situation and cooperate with the government which is sparing no efforts to end the crisis, he said. He also alleged that TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who claims to have adopted two-eyed policy, was alone putting hurdles in the way of Telangana development. Naidu has been deliberately preventing power supply due to Telangana, he alleged.
Etela said his government’s intention is to issue cards and certificates to genuine people. He said those who want to obtain health security cards and others can give their details on a whitepaper. There is no need of filling forms and can do so by filling up whitepapers, he added. He also said some political parties are resorting to baseless criticism against the KCR government. All the eligible people would get health security cards, pensions and other certificates, he added. (NSS)
