Many irregularities are being done in the Central Govt. Health Scheme Govt. officials and the managements of corporate hospitals are involved in these scams. During the past three years Rs. 540 crore have been swallowed. CBI registered a case and investigations are in progress. Mr. Shankara Rajasekharan, Founder Trustee “Right to Health” exposed this scam in a press conference yesterday. He told that corporate hospitals are looting Govt. treasury. Despite indicating these irregularities Central Govts keeping quiet which is very surprising.
Mr. Rajasekharan told that there are 14 corporate hospitals in the city which are involved in this scam. They are: Care Hospital, Banjara Hills, Care Hospital, Nampally, Yashodha Hospital, Secunderabad, Yashodha Hospital, Somajiguda, Yashodha Hospital, Malakpet, Apollo DRDO Hospital, Kanchan Bagh, Kamineni Hospital, L.B. Nagar, Medwin Hospital, Kamenini Workhart Hospital, Image Hospital Ameerpet, Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills.
He told that CBI had started investigations in 2010 and it is expected that very soon a chargesheet would be submitted in the court. He told that these hospitals charge 40% more than the other hospitals. He requested the State Govt. to take action in respect of similar scams in State Govt. hospitals also.
