Health Minister holds review on Dengue

Hyderabad: Reacting to reported Dengue deaths in some villages in Khammam district and other areas in the State, the State Government today directed the officials to plunge into action to prevent spread of viral fevers and contagious diseases.
Health Minister Dr Cherlakola Lakshma Reddy today held a high-level review meeting at Secretariat here and took stock of the situation. He directed the Health department officials to take immediate steps to contain the possible spread of dengue and other viral fevers in Khammam villages such as Bonakal, Ravinutala and Govindapuram.
The minister was reacting to the media reports on dengue related deaths and paucity of health services at local and area hospitals. Lakshma Reddy asked the Health officials to send specialist doctors and staff to attend to the patients and provide them immediate medication. “The officials should equip with necessary testing material and staff to offer health services”. He also asked them to stay put in the villages and prevent possible spread of the dengue and other fevers. (NSS)
