Lucknow, April 06: Three UP Health Department officials, including a Deputy Chief Medical Officer, were arrested today on charges of financial irregularities in the family welfare department of the state, police said.
Deputy CMO Y S Sachan, administrative officer C J Yadav and clerk P C Verma were arrested after an FIR was registered against them for their involvement in financial irregularities by Joint Director family welfare Rajendra Singh at Wazirganj police station, they said.
The FIR was lodged after police, which is probing CMO family welfare B P Singh murder case, found involvement of these three in financial irregularities.
Singh was shot dead by some unidentified men on April 2, triggering protests by locals as well as opposition parties.
