Govt. was reimbursing medical expenses of Govt. employees after they receive treatments from reputed private hospitals. The employees were facing a lot of difficulties in spending money on their own for treatment. They had to take loans for meeting medical expenses. The leaders of teachers’ union PRTU namely Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Khaja Moinuddin, Asrar Ahmed told that Govt. employees including the teachers were demanding for issuing health cards to Govt. employees on the lines of Arogyashree scheme.
Govt. has now decided to issue health cards to its employees from 1st November 2012. It will benefit 8 lakh Govt. employees including the teachers. It will also benefit six lakh pensioners. Govt. of AP will spend Rs. 350 crore on this scheme. The leaders of teachers union have expressed happiness on this decision of the Govt.
