Headmaster booked for forcefully marrying, raping minor in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Shamshabad police have booked 46-year-old school principal on charges of marrying a minor student, police said on Friday. A resident of Shabad, Akbar Ali confined the minor girl and took her to Shamshabad. He also allegedly sexually assaulted her and married the 16-year-old.

Designated as the headmaster at a government school in Chintal, Ali was approached by the first year Intermediate student seeking help after she had failed in a subject. “It was then that he forced her to marry him. He took her to an isolated place on the city outskirts and married her. After that, he kidnapped her and lodged her at his residence, where he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions,” Shamshabad Deputy Commissioner of Police, PV Padmaja said.

Ali has been booked under relevant sections and also under POCSO Act based upon the complaint of victim’s parents, who had also informed police about her abduction. After the victim was rescued, she was sent to a Shelter Home. Meanwhile, a hunt to nab Ali is on, the DCP said according to a Telangana Today report.
