Headley’s ex-wife reveals his Mumbai connection

New Delhi, January 04: Investigators have received more details regarding suspected US LeT operative David Coleman Headley as his ex-Moroccan wife revealed his vital unknown connections in Mumbai.

Faiza Outalha, who, security agencies suspect, carried out reconnaissance of some places targeted by Mumbai attackers, told National Investigation Agency that she married and later divorced Headley, sources said.

Outalha is said to have stayed with Headley in Taj Mahal and Oberoi-Trident hotels in Mumbai during her first visit to India in 2007. She also said that she accompanied Headley to Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus. All three places were targeted during the attacks.

She again visited India in May 2008 — this time through Wagah border —and spent time in Manali, where she stayed near a Jewish house, and several other places in Shimla, including Kufri, a well-known tourist destination. Sources said NIA was now trying to figure out how Outalha entered India through Wagah border, which is exclusively meant for Indians and Pakistanis. She holds a Moroccan passport and could use Wagah route only after getting special permission from Pakistani foreign office.
