HDFC guard held with booty

Hyderabad, October 13: Police on Monday arrested the security guard, Jeevan Reddy, who fled with a cash bag containing Rs 10 lakh from the HDFC Bank at Ranigunj, where he was posted on duty. Police said Jeevan Reddy, a native of Chenchalacheruvu village in Koheda mandal of Karimnagar district, joined the security services only with an intention to steal.

According to Mahankali in-charge police inspector Vinod Kumar, Jeevan Reddy befriended Rajasekhara Reddy of Siddipet and stole his certificates and documents.

With these, he secured a job in Warrior FMS India Private Limited, a private security agency. He was posted at the cash counter of HDFC Ranigunj branch.

“Jeevan Reddy observed that the counters were left unlocked during lunch hour and on Saturday when the employees went for lunch, he fled with Rs 10 lakh from the counter,” Vinod Kumar said.

On information, police arrested him from his village and recovered Rs 8.50 lakh cash from him.
