APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said the State government would honor the High Court verdict and conduct Local Body elections soon.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Botcha said the delay in conducting Local Body elections was halting development in the villages. The increase in BC reservations will not affect the Urban areas, but the problem would be in the rural areas like sarpanch, MPTC and ZPTC elections. He said the party and the government will examine the Constitutional facts, ground realities and court verdict before taking a decision to conduct the civic polls. He also said that the Congress would stick to its word on reservation to the BCs. (NSS)
