Describing the High Court’s verdict on G.O.No.123 and 124 released for land acquisition as Opposition and people’s victory, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that it’s a slap on Telangana government.
In a pressnote, Ponnam Prabhakar demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to tender unconditional apology to the farmers as the High Court dismissed G.O.No.123 and 124. He said that the government failed to respond on the Opposition parties and people’s movements against the G.O.No.123 and 124 by not implementing Land Acquisition Act-2013 in acquiring land from the people. The High Court verdict is a fitting lesson to the TRS government, he said. He suggested the government not to rule the people unilaterally and the government has to rule democratically. He alleged that the TRS government raised curtains to the money hunger in the name of projects redesigning.
He demanded the government to give back the lands to the farmers taken forcefully for the sake of projects and acquire land implementing Land Acquisition Act-2013. Warning the government not to appeal in Supreme Court taking the High Court verdict as a prestige one, Ponnam said that the same verdict will come even in Supreme Court. (NSS)
