The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday declined permission to hold Beef Festival in the Osmania University. The court directed the State government to implement the directive of the City Civil Court on preventing the beef festival strictly.
It may be mentioned here that ABVP leader Kadiyam Raju approached the High Court pleading it to direct the government to stop the holding of beef festival. Responding to the plea, the High Court directed the police to ensure law and order in OU. The city civil court had already ruled that no festival should be held in the Osmania University till December 20. The Democratic Cultural Forum was planning to hold beef festival on December 10. The DCF said there was no question of postponing the beef festival. (NSS)
