HC tells State to form Rythu Commission within three months

The High Court has directed the Telangana State government to constitute a Rythu Commission within three months.

Dealing with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by BJP senior leader N Indrasena Reddy urging the Court to solve the problems of the farmers, on Tuesday the High Court issued orders. In his petition, Indrasena Reddy mentioned that though there was a law that the government has to appoint a Commission to solve the problems of the farmers, but the government was not bothering about it.

The High Court, in its last hearing, asked the State government as to when it will constitute the Commission. The State government today informed the Court that it will appoint Rythu Commission within three months. Following the State government’s submission, the High Court issued orders in this regard asking the State government to appoint Rythu Commission within three months. The Court also made it clear that a five-member Commission, including a retired High Court judge be appointed within three months. (NSS)
