HC takes suo motu of AP Minister’s allegations

Hyderabad, September 27: The Andhra Pradesh High Court today took suo motu cognisance of the allegations made by Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao who said Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy has been indulging in corruption. The Minister alleged during a press conference here yesterday that Ms Reddy was selling jobs in her department. Saying that the matter was fit enough for ordering a CBI probe, Justice L Narasimha Reddy, however, referred the matter to another bench for taking a decision on the issue. Mr Rao had alleged that the Home Minister was selling jobs in the police department unabashedly and she, her brother and son were allegedly making crores of rupees from it. Immediately after coming to know about the allegations made against her by the Minister, the Home Minister rebuffed the charges and said she would bring this to the notice of Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the APCC President and the Congress High Command for necessary action. Mr Rao also did not spare the Chief Minister for giving undue importance to the wholly corrupt Home Minister.
