The Telangana Government on Tuesday got a major relief when a Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court stayed the order of a single-bench which scrapped GO MS NO. 123 related to land acquisition.
Acting on a petition filed by the State Government, the High Court granted interim stay and asked the State Government to submit the modified GO by including Rehabilitation and Resettlement packages for agricultural labourers. It also said that the acquisition of land would be subject to final decision of the court.
The office of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has expressed happiness over the High Court’s decision and assured to provide best compensation to the outsees. Meanwhile, TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would approach the Supreme Court against the stay. (INN)
