HC slaps fine on Jagan’s COs

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has expressed anger at the media houses of YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for repeatedly making amendments in their petitions challenging the orders on freezing of accounts. The Court has imposed a fine fo Rs 1 lakh each on Jagathi Publications, Janani Infra and Indira Television. It directed these organisations to pay the fine within a week. The CBI has frozen the bank accounts of these organisations in May last and the court has questioned the petitioners on how they could seek amendments to their pleas again and again. The investigating agency, before freezing the accounts of Mr Jagan’s organisations, had obtained permission from the state government and the local court to attach the properties. Following this, bank accounts of these companies were frozen. However, the companies went to the court and obtained some relaxations. UNI
