New Delhi, April 06: The Delhi High Court today pulled up the MCD for its “failure” to maintain cleanliness in a park in West Patel Nagar and appointed two lawyers to inspect the area and file a report about the condition of the park.
“What is the purpose of a green park if it was not kept clean? The park remained green only on paper,” said a division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Reva Khetrapal on a PIL seeking a direction to the civic agency to take appropriate steps to maintain cleanliness in the park.
Constituting a committee comprising two lawyers Jayshree Satpute and Sachin Dutta, the bench permitted the them to videograph the condition of the park and file a report before it by May 4.
