The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday relaxed the bail conditions of Telugu Desam Party MLA A. Revanth Reddy, the main accused in the ‘Cash for Vote’ case.
In his petition, Revanth Reddy sought relaxations on bail conditions which confined him to his constituency Kodangal of Mahabubnagar district. He was arrested on May 31 this year by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on the charges of trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote in favour of TDP nominee in Vem Narendra in the recently held MLC elections. He was released on conditional bail on June 30.
Revanth Reddy filed a petition before the High Court seeking relaxations on the grounds that being an elected representative he needs to visit Hyderabad to attend to public and party works. Further, he said he also needs to travel to different places in view of his daughter’s marriage. After hearing his plea, the High Court relaxed the condition and permitted him to travel out of his constituency.
The court also directed Revanth Reddy to present himself before the ACB office on every Monday. (INN)
