Hyderabad, April 30: Justice Tamada Gopalakrishna of the AP High Court on Thursday quashed a complaint against Chamundeshwarinath, a former functionary of the Andhra Cricket Association. The petitioner questioned the lodging of a criminal complaint against him charging him of forgery and manipulating the bylaws of the Andhra Cricket Association.
According to the complainant, the accused petitioner had effected certain changes disempowering the president of the association and making the secretary the sole representative of the Association at the BCCI . In his petition before the High Court, the petitioner contended that the allegations were baseless, that they were a part of a scheme to harass him and the official records as with the Registrar of Societies were clearly established that the acts alleged were not true and correct.
Telangana Praja Samithi plea dismissed
A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Chief Justice Nissar Ahmed Kukru and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Thursday dismissed a writ petition filed by Telangana Praja Samithi seeking a direction to the Justice Srikrishna Commission to hear them in the ongoing exercise on the Telangana issue.
The bench faulted the petitioner for not making proper parties to the petition and also held that such a writ cannot be issued.
Plea seeking quo warranto against CM adjourned
A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Chief Justice Nissar Ahmed Kukru and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Thursday adjourned to after vacation a writ plea seeking a quo warranto against chief minister K Rosaiah. The writ petition came up as an offshoot of aspirant Excise sub inspectors complaining that though they were selected a decade ago they were not being given appointments.
The selection was based on the then prohibition policy of the government.
The Advocate General brought to the notice of the court that the present petition for a quo warranto was wholly misconceived and wanted rejection.
Counsel for the petitioner sought time after vacation.
