Hyderabad, May 2: Andhra Pradesh high court has ordered secretary Minority Welfare Department, special officer GHMC, Chief executive officer AP state Waqf board and Commissioner of police to submit a report regarding the current situation of Chaukhandi graveyard. It also ordered them to ensure maintenance of status quo abiding by the court orders.
A bench comprising of chief justice Mr. Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru and Jusice VV Afzalpuvarkar issued these orders.
The petitioner president Waqf Properties Protection Society Mr. Osman bin Mohammad alHajari had knocked the door of high court against laying of road by razing the graves and the boundary of Chaukhandi graveyard at Shaikpet, on which the court had ordered to maintain status quo.
