Andhra Pradesh High Court today asked the state government to initiate inquiry against TNGOs President Swamy Goud on the alleged irregularities committed by him in the allotment of house-sites to Telangana NGOs. The court passed orders after hearing petitions filed by the employees and directed the government to initiate action against Mr Gowd.
The Court also told the petitioners that they could get back to it, if the government failed to initiate action within a month. The allegations are that Mr Goud had allotted house-sites to the people of his choice, ignoring the claims of deserving employees. The aggrieved government employees in the petition prayed the court to pass orders seeking scrapping of the society. The High Court had earlier ordered a full-scale inquiry into the activities of the society. Kiranmayi, an officer of cooperative department, who held an inquiry into the allegations, had reportedly confirmed that there were irregularities in allotment of house sites. She also submitted her 1000-page report to the government.
The society was allotted 160 acres for distribution to the employees in Gachi Bowli and Gopannapalli areas in 1991. However, Mr Goud has maintained that he has not committed any irregularities and found fault with the officer for leaking the report even before she submitted it to the government. UNI
