In a reprieve to job seekers, the High Court today gave green signal to TSPSC to go ahead with its process of filling vacant posts under Group II Services. The apex court postponed the case to October 9 and instructed the petitioners to raise objections, if any.
According to information, the High Court asked the recruiting body to take up verification of certificates for the Group-II Posts. With this, a major hurdle has been cleared and TSPSC is likely to issue a notification to fill the posts by verifying certificates of the eligible candidates very soon.
While TSPSC sought permission of the High Court, the petitioners asked to continue stay imposed on the jobs filling process. The court, which stayed the previous process of TSPSC, on Thursday, asked the officials to go ahead with filling the posts.
It may be mentioned here that the TSPSC conducted examinations for 1,032 posts and has to call 3,096 persons in 1:3 ratio for verification of the certificates. However, the TSPSC said it was decided to verify certificates of 3,147 eligible persons to avoid delay in the process and to accommodate physically challenged in the Group-II posts. Some 18 persons moved court against disparity in question papers and key released by the TSPSC. As the previous stay completed on Thursday, the court gave a green signal for certificate verification to the recruiting body. (NSS)
