Hyderabad, February 10: A division bench of the AP High Court on Wednesday ordered notice in a writ petition complaining that the TTD was spending money on activities not authorised by law.
G Venkateswar Rao, a resident of Guntur, contended in his petition that the decision of the TTD to reimburse tuition fee of employees’ children, free RTC bus coupons, footwear allowance, house sites and Brahmotsavam Bahumanam was contrary to Section 111 of the Endowments Act.
The TTD with over 10,365 employees had earmarked over Rs 4.39 cr under the head of tuition fee and Rs 3.69 cr for RTC coupons. The petitioner further said his representations to the minister concerned proved futile.
