Hyderabad, February 03: A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Chief Justice Nissar Ahmad Kakru and Justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Wednesday directed strict compliance of the earlier orders made by the Supreme Court and the High Court with regard to the functioning of the courts. The court order came in a writ petition filed by lawyer Syed S R Mamoom who complained that after the incidents in the Ranga Reddy court on Tuesday it was necessary to give protection to lawyers. He complained of failure of the official machinery.
Caution advised in drafting teachers for poll duty
Disposing of a writ petition filed by Pukar against drafting school teachers for electoral duty which was adversely impacting the education of students, the division bench on Wednesday directed officials to ensure that the drawing of teaching staff for poll duty did not affect education of children.
Govt to produce Srikrishna law and order report in court
Additional Solicitor General Ravindran on Wednesday informed the High Court about the central government’s preparedness to produce all details connected with the Sri Krishna Commission report. Justice L Narasimha Reddy observed that a writ petition in this regard required the presence of the Attorney General. The petitioner had sought the details of the Annexures to the SKC report which states about law and order situation and addresses issues relating to national security. Ravindran informed court that government was willing to place all info required in this regard and sought time till Feb 9 when GK Vahanvati, Attorney General, would be present in court.
