Chennai, January 20: The Madras High Court today dismissed a petition seeking a CBI probe into the fatal attack on a sub-inspector in Tirunelveli district and the alleged inaction by two Tamil Nadu ministers and police officials to provide him timely help.
In his petition, 76-year-old social activist K R Ramaswamy had sought a direction to CBI to also inquire into the alleged inordinate delay in providing medical aid to the sub-inspector on January seven and removing him to a hospital, besides the state government’s “silence on the negligent attitude of the ministers and police officials”.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Gokhle and Justice K K Sasidharan dismissed the petition after the petitioner said he was not pressing it.
