HC directs Engg college allows student to appear for exam

The High Court on Thursday directed the Kammavari Sangha Institute of Technology (KSIT), the engineering college on Kanakapura Road, to permit a sixth semester engineering student to write the examination scheduled for June 13.

Shreya K S, a resident of Jayanagar and a student of electronics and communications, was not permitted to write examination as she remained absent for over three months, after she met with an accident.

The accident had made her immobile. Even the medical certificate submitted in her support did not yield any result. The Counsel for the petitioners submitted that although the Institute had promised to permit her to write the examinations, with a condition she cleared an oral test, however, it made a U-turn later.

Justice A S Bopanna, following a petition, directed the Institute to give permission to the student to appear for the examination scheduled for Friday.
