A division bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court, comprising of Justice Ashutosh Mohanta and justice G Krishna Mohan Reddy has upheld order of the chief judge and election tribunal city civil court, in which they had declared the election of Langar Houz division corporator as void.
The tribunal in its orders in 2011, had cancelled the election of Ravi Yadav and declared Uday Kumar of the BJP as elected in his place. Uday Kumar had challenged Ravi Yadav’s election saying that the later had three children at the time of elections.
The tribunal after going through the documents submitted by Uday Kumar had disqualified an MIM corporator on the grounds that he had more than two children which was in violation of election rules governing the civic body.
