A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Monday censured the TRS government over its GO on Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) scheme. The court observed that the GO appears to be encouraging separatist tendencies. The court also observed that students from other States would not come to Telangana State as the impugned GO would not help them.
In its explanation to the Court, the Telangana government a five-member committee has been constituted to decide the issue. The High Court adjourned hearing of the case to January. The judges cautioned the government to be careful while implementing such schemes as students from different parts of the country are studying in each and every State. (NSS)
