HC Censures Govt For Not Canceling Lands Allotted To Economic City

The High Court has directed the State government to issue a GO canceling allotment of lands to the Economic City in Medak district. The court also gave four weeks to the government to issue the GO and submit a compliance report to it on cancellation of the lands.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice V. Afzal Purkar expressed surprise over the State government’s dilemma in carrying out its decision to cancel the lands in Medak district for Economic City. The Bench also directed the Advocate General to submit a report on the issue.
GOVT APPEAL TO VACATE STAY REJECTED
In another case, the High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by the State government to vacate the stay on conducting elections to the Prakasam District Cooperative Central Bank. The court also directed the government to submit the GO and relevant records for postponement of elections to three primary agriculture cooperative societies in the district. The Bench made it clear that it cannot issue stay vacation orders for the DCCB election without looking into the issues pertaining to the postponement of elections to the three primary agricultural cooperative societies in the district.
The Bench adjourned the case for further hearing while suggesting to the government to produce relevant records. (NSS)
