HC allows airline employee to choose life partner

New Delhi, October 26: The Delhi High Court today allowed a woman, who alleged she has been illegally detained by her parents who are against her affair with a man much older than her, to choose a life partner.

A Division Bench of Justice B D Ahmed and Justice Manmohan Singh allowed 25-year-old Merilyne Easow, a resident of Kerala, who was produced by the police on a habeas corpus petition, to take her decision.

The Bench was hearing a petition filed by advocate Sharmishta Chawdhary after receiving an email from Merilyne, an airline employee who is her friend, accusing her parents of illegally detaining at their house in Kottayam district in Kerala after coming to know about her love-life.
