Madhya Pradesh, October 10: Police busted an inter-state gang dealing in Hawala transactions and arrested three persons in Madhya Pradesh. Rs 95 lakh recovery from their possession, police said.
Kannu Devda, Mukesh Patel and Vishnu Patel, all three hailing from Gujarat, were apprehended by the Madhya Pradesh police from an apartment on MG Road in a raid carried out Saturday night, they said.
The accused are suspected of working for a firm in Ahemdabad and were trying to take the Hawala money to Gujarat, police added.
Two bags containing Hawala cash amounting to Rs 95 lakh were also recovered from the spot.
Further investigations are going on to ascertain the source of the money and the destination it was meant for.
