Hathras (Uttar Pradesh): At least five people including a police officer were killed in a road accident here on Thursday.
The accident occurred at NH93 near Sadabad village when a team of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and local police were cleaning up the road after a minor accident,” Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Siddharth Verma told reporters.
“While the cleaning work was on, a roadways bus crushed these officials. One police officer from the Sadabad police station also lost his life in the incident,” the senior official added.
The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police also reached the spot.
Further investigation in the matter is underway.
