Hyderabad: Noted Urdu poet Hashim Firozabadi with his revolutionary poem shakes the conscience of Muslims by saying I’ve come to wake up the sleeping tigers.
He calls the community’s attention towards its negligence towards the education. Education and skill were once the paramount importance for Muslims but today they lag behind in those fields. He urged Muslims to at least educate their children.
An alumnus of AMU, Hashim Ferozabadi says that the community deviated from its main objective as it has been divided into different factions, who have their own mosques and their leaders.
The poet points out that ironically those who believe in scores of gods are standing as one, but the community which believes in one God is divided and scattered.
He cited the incidences of Jang-e-Badr and Jang-e-Khaibar in which Muslims defeated their enemies despite the fact that they were less in numbers and were having meager resources.
