Banglore: Spectators got confused to identify Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar in his new look of beard. In the warm-up match between India and New Zealand, he was seen in beard which made people recognising him as Hashim Amla.
PTV had reported that Aleem Dar was inspired and encouraged by South African batsman Hashim Amla to keep a beard.
Keeping in consideration that Amla is a practising Muslim, so when Dar was having thoughts to revive the Sunnah, Amla asked him to do so without any hesitation. He is known to be the calmest player on his team.
Whereas, the 48-year-old, Dar has till now umpired 48 T20, 183 one day and 111 test matches. Also, he was entitled to be the best umpire in three consecutive years of 2009, 2010 and 2011.
