New Delhi: Senior Indian Information Service Officer Haseebur Rahman Malik assumed charge as Director of Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. He is the first Muslim officer of the country to reach such a prestigious post.
59-year-old, Haseebur Rahman Malik, belongs to Gaya district of Bihar. He is the class one IIA Officer of 1983 batch and is one of the distinguished bureaucrats of the country. He served as Regional Publicity Officer in Magadh, Gaya for 20 years. Besides he also served as news editor in Doordarshan Patna. He was deputy director of All India Radio, Calcutta. He was the Officer in Special Duty (OSD) of tourism minister Sultan Ahmed during the 2nd term of UPA government.
Mr Malik was the editor of Sainik Samachar which is published by Defence ministry in 13 languages. He was appointed joint director in DAVP just one and a half month ago but now he will serve as the Director of DAVP.
