New Delhi The Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) on Monday announced its merger with the Congress party, the formal announcement in this regard would be made on Tuesday morning.
The announcement came after a meeting between HJC president Kuldeep Bishnoi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi here.
“We had a very nice meeting with Rahul ji, and he had given his complete blessings. We will formally announce our merger with the Congress tomorrow (Tuesday) morning,” Bishnoi told ANI.
“Our party’s leaders, workers and people wanted us to merge with the Congress party to strengthen it in Haryana. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has created such a situation in the state that we can unitedly throw them out of power. One and one are eleven,” he added.
When asked what condition he has set before the Congress for the merger, Bishnoi said, “We have put no condition and are joining the Congress unconditionally. Our only motive is to strengthen the hand of Congress and Rahul ji to oust the BJP from the state.”
Speaking on the merger, Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed said, “He (Bishnoi)is son of Bhajan Lal ji, and they were with the Congress earlier too. Kuldeep ji and his wife are MLAs. We would definitely like him to work with us (ANI)
