Chandigarh, September 19: Dispelling doubts about the unity in Haryana Congress, AICC general secretary and Haryana incharge B K Hariprasad today said the party would unitedly fight the coming Hisar Lok Sabha by-election and would win the seat comfortably. Addressing a generel body meeting of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Hariprasad said, Congress nominee for the Hisar seat Jai Prakash was not the candidate of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
He is the candidate of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the entire Congress leadetrship of the state would work unitedly to ensure his victory. He said Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) leader Bhajan Lal had won the seat in the last elections by appealing to the electorate that it would be his last election and therefore they should vote for him. There would be such factor in these elections, he added. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also asserted that the Congress would unitedly fight the elections to make the party s candidate victorious. He said the the Congress victory in the Hisar bypoll was certain while the opposition INLD and the HJC-BJP combine were contesting with each other for the number two position.
