Haryana allocates Rs 261.56 cr for various schemes

Chandigarh, April 13: Haryana government has allocated Rs 261.56 crore for various schemes being implemented for welfare of people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes during current financial year

This amount is Rs 68.12 crore more than the allocation for the year 2010-11, Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Geeta Bhukkal said today.

In a message issued here on the eve of the birth anniversary of Dalit icon Bhim Rao Ambedkar, she said special priority had been given by allocating 49.1 per cent budget to social sector.

Under Dr Ambedkar Medhavi Chhatra Yojna, incentive ranging between Rs 4000 and Rs 12000 is being given from eighth class to graduate level on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by a student.
