Hyderabad, January 23 (INN): Amalapuram MP Harsha Kumar on Sunday came down heavily on Congress Coordination Committee Chairman and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for giving proper representation to Backward Classes in the committee.
Talking to media persons after meeting Azad at Gandhi Bhavan, Harsha Kumar said that injustice was done to BC leaders in the formation of coordination committee and he would take up the issue with Congress high command soon. He said the committee was formed to reduce the gap between the party and government. However, the committee was not serving its purpose due to lack of proper representation of BCs. He said it would send a wrong message among lower strata and they would distance away from Congress party soon.
Stating there was no need to give prominence to Praja Rajyam Party by inducting two ministers from Kapu community, he feared that the Dalit community would disassociate itself from the Congress with this move. He asked Azad to explain Why Mala community was not given proper representation in the Cabinet, which brought Congress to power in 2009 elections.
He asked as to why the Chief Minister did not fill up the ministerial berth, which fell vacant due to sacking of Dr P Shankar Rao, with the member of same community. He said the Congress party should not neglect the BC, SC and ST communities. (INN)
