Harkat-ul-Mujahideen militant arrested in Baramulla

Srinagar, September 13: A Harkat-ul-Mujahideen militant was today arrested for lobbing a grenade on the resident of district and sessions judge Baramulla on September 8. Ishtyaq Ahmad, who hails from Pattan, 30 kms from here, was arrested in Baramulla and has confessed to having committed the crime in which a policeman guarding the house was injured, a police spokesman said.

Ahmad is still being interrogated, he said. Meanwhile, police today foiled a terror plot by arresting four ultras trying to carry out grenade attacks in Srinagar and Pulwama.

All four were arrested from Pulwama, 32 km from here and four grenades were recovered from them, the spokesman said adding a case has been registered against them.
