Harithaharam to return rains, says KCR

Stressing the need for bringing back rains in Telangana state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that they will plant 230 cr saplings for the purpose. During a Medak constituency review meeting he said that they can achieve anything with commitment and persistent efforts to remodel Telangana to have green cover. A massive afforestation program of planting 230 cr of saplings in three years will be taken up which includes 40 lakh saplings every year he said.
Telangana Harithaharam project will be implemented in a prestigious manner by involving officials and people alike he said. In spite of reserve forests the state of Telangana lacks adequate number of trees and green cover which is adding to the environmental imbalance, KCR said. The Government focuses on the need for having forest and greenery in the state to attract rains on time. Timely rains will help the farmers become rich by increase of their annual agriculture produce and reap in better benefits. The Chief Minister said that the government has appointed Priyanka Vargis specially for Telangana Harithaharam project. We will achieve this project get fructified only when the officials actively work he said. The State Government has taken up measures for employees welfare and given them health cards he added. (NSS)
