Harish wants T doctor appointed NIMS director

TRS leader and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has demanded that the government appoint a doctor from the Telangana region as director of the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Harish Rao alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to appoint a doctor belonging to Chittoor district as NIMS director once again. Lambasting the Chief Minister for trying to appoint Samaikyandhra persons as directors to the institutions located in Hyderabad, he demanded that the government appoint a person from Telangana region at least at the time of division of the State to render justice. He said the State government had appointed a Telangana doctor as NIMS director in the last 30 years out of 14 directors. “That too for one year”, he bemoaned and asked whether it was not discrimination by successive Seemandhra-dominated governments.
