Harish vows to develop Nizam Sagar

Nizam Sagar Project in Nizambad will be developed into a tourist destination in the near future, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has said.
Talking to mediapersons after visiting the project, Harish Rao said efforts will be made to develop the project as a tourist destination with a plan of facilities, greenery and infrastructure. The government, he said, will release Rs 1.50 crore for restoration of Singeetham reservoir in the district. He also said Rs 10 crore will be spent for construction of storage houses for farm produce, including Jukkal Assembly constituency. The minister appealed to the people to involve themselves in restoration works of lakes and water bodies to see a steep rise in farm produce in the days to come. The flagship program of Mission Kakatiya is aimed at providing timely supply of irrigation waters to the rural pockets, he added.
Rs 5 crore for Polytechnic College
Earlier, the minister laid a foundation stone for construction of a Polytechnic College at a cost of Rs 5 crore at Basugadda Thanda in Sangareddy mandal in Medak district. Later he said the government will take steps to develop Sanga Reddy constituency. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will soon visit this area, Harish added. (NSS)
