Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today declared that Baswapuram and Kandamalla lakes in Nalgonda district would be developed into reservoirs.
Speaking to reporters while touring in the Nalgonda district, Harish Rao said steps would be taken to irrigate over two lakh acres through these two reservoirs. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving priority to develop Yadadri temple and three lakes will be developed into mini-tank bunds. He also alleged that the previous governments had ignored the plight of temples. Like no other government did in the past, the TRS Government has released funds for developing temples, he claimed. He also appealed to the land owners not to worry about their compensation. The Government will do justice to them with suitable succor to the land owners, who offer their lands for developmental works in the district, he added. (NSS)
