Harish Raps Vundavalli For Inciting Seemandhra People

TRS senior leader Harish Rao today excoriated Rajahmundry Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar for his baseless allegations against TRS and party chief K Chandrasekhara Rao.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, Harish Rao said there was no substance in Vundavalli’s speech, except sarcasm. Harish described Vundavalli as modern day Dyer “as he suggested that tribals should be shot dead for constructing the Polavaram project.

Harish charged Vundavalli with inciting people of the Seemandhra region against others. He lamented that every time there was some move to take a decision on Telangana, the Seemandhra leaders were “hatching conspiracies to sabotage Centre’s decision”.

Referring to the charge of Vundavalli that KCR has been uttering lies, Harish Rao questioned how KCR was able to lead the Telangana movement successfully for the past 12 years and how people were supporting him. He also questioned why the Congress had forged an alliance with the TRS, if the party was not trustworthy. Harish charged Vundavalli with inciting the people of Seemandhra showing KCR in poor light. He made it clear that no movement could ever be run with lies.

Referring to the contention of the Seemandhra leaders that consensus was needed for creating Telangana, Harish Rao questioned whether the Polavaram project was being constructed with consensus.

Dismissing Vundavalli’s contention that water was being provided for minor irrigation in Telangana, Harish Rao contended that every year farmers under the left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar were taking to the roads for water. He said the party stood by KCR’s argument that revenue in the Telangana region was more than that of Andhra. (NSS)
