Harish Rao’s talk Akin to Devils Chanting Scriptures—Ponnam

Alleging that Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao’s words were similar to devils chanting scriptures, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that the Telangana Legislative Assembly was  reflecting ‘Kourava Sabha’.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with MLA from Wanaparthy G Chinna Reddy,  former Whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy and TPCC official spokesperson Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday, Ponnam asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who assured in  the House that the government will pay interest on loan waiver scheme, to tell as to why  the same was not being paid. The Congress leaders were feeling sad when the farmers were setting the crops  ablaze, he said and asked KCR to tell as to why he was not ensuring  minimum support price to the crops of the farmers. He  said that the people were observing all the happenings  and are aware as to who made ‘self goal’—the  Congress party, which waged fight for the sake of farmers, or TRS government, which foiled the Chalo Assembly program.

Describing the Congress party as peoples’ party,  the former MP said that the Congress party was not alone and it was conveying the grievances of farmers to the government. He asked TRS government to come forward to meet the farmers on Sunday and said that he was ready to rub his nose to the ground if the farmers say that the Congress party made ‘self goal’.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the Chalo Assembly program has become a big success. Chinna Reddy said that they succeeded in bringing the problems of the farmers to the notice of state government with the Chalo Assembly program. The TRS government scolded Congress party asking the latter as to how it will speak outside the Assembly instead of speaking inside the house on farmers’ issue. He observed that the employees were in confusion with the CPS pension’s policy.

Gandra said that the farmers have come voluntarily to participate in Chalo Assembly program. Asking the government to tell as what issues were important than farmers when the latter were not getting minimum support price to their crops, Gandra demanded the state government to tell as to how much money the government spent on agriculture sector in the last four years. Claiming that Rythu Samanvaya Samithis (RSS) have turned in to  TRS Samithis, Gandra asked the state government to fill all vacant positions in case it was sincere. (NSS
