Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Monday said that the State Government had completed the works of Mission Bhagiratha in record time of six months by spending Rs 1,055 crore.
He said that the state government intends to provide piped drinking water to every household in the state in next two years.
Harish Rao said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the project during his maiden visit to the state on August 7. The minister, along with Transport Minister Mahendar Reddy, reviewed the arrangements for the PM’s visit. He directed the Transport Minister to ensure that the RTC buses are pressed into the service to ferry people from across the district to the venue of public meeting to be addressed by the Prime Minister.
Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman V Prashanth Reddy also visited Komatibanda and reviewed the works of the Mission and other arrangements. (INN)
