Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussainsagar.
Speaking to media persons at NTR Marg here, Harish Rao informed that the State Government has sanctioned Rs. 4.7 crore for the Ganesh festival arrangements. He said 23 big cranes have been arranged at Tank Bund while 10 large cranes would be deployed at NTR Marg for the immersion of Ganesh idols. In addition, arrangements have been made at 21 other lakes in and around Hyderabad. He said 21 Moving Cranes were also being deployed for emergency situations.
Harish Rao said fool-proof security measures have been taken and CC Cameras have been installed on the Ganesh procession route from Balapur to Tank Bund. As many as 48 CC Cameras have been erected around Hussainsagar. He said that the Mission Kakatiya has given good results with many lakes having good water and they would be used for immersion of Ganesh idols.
The minister requested the people to extend their full cooperation in the peaceful and smooth conduct of the festival. (INN)
