Harish Rao promises modern Rythu Bazars in all Assembly segments

Irrigation and Marketing Minister T. Harish Rao has announced that the State Government would construct one modernised and comprehensive Rythu Bazar in each of 119 Assembly constituencies of Telangana State.

He made the announcement after inaugurating a modern Rythu Bazar in Karimnagar on Sunday. Finance Minister Eatala Rajender was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the State Government would provide transport and marketing facilities so that the farmers could sell their produce with convenience. He said that the Rythu Bazar in Karimnagar was first of its kind in the State where people would be able to buy non-vegetarian items along with vegetables. He said similar Rythu Bazars would be established in Ramagundem, Sircilla and Vemulawada towns soon. He said that the State Government wants to establish Rythu Bazars on Karimnagar’s outskirts and the process of identification of land has been initiated.

Harish Rao said that a cold storage would be approved to preserve stocks of vegetables, mutton, chicken and fish. He directed the municipal officials not to permit sale of vegetables on roads as the State Government wants such purchasing to be done only at Rythu Bazars.

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender listed out various schemes being implemented by the State Government to help farmers. Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, ZP Chairman T. Uma, TRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Karimnagar Mayor Ravinder Singh, Deputy Mayor Ramesh and other officials were also present. (INN)
